原盘画质一言难尽。理论上，本片的作画质量和后期编码应该都是不错的：线条较粗，但锐度不错，没有振铃，也没什么明显锯齿，平面上的色带也不明显。
可惜这片子摊上了东映，在东映祖传省钱术的加持下，一张 BD25 灌录了 3-4 集正片，直接导致了视频轨道体积只有 3-5G 不等。更要命的是画面本身带有相当重的噪点层。在重噪和欠码的混合双打下，蚊噪和色块自不必说，纹理直接和噪点混在一起被压碎，线条质量也变得乏善可陈。本来寄希望于 Crunchyroll 的 WEB 源能给我们一些安慰，然而 CR 源也有类似的问题，纹理质量甚至更差。
欠码的问题还算好解决，让人头疼的是纹理和噪点，如果选择保留和掩盖，压制成品的体积会远高于平均；如果选择抹去，必然会导致纹理有一定程度的模糊。考虑到本片（尤其第二季和第三季是战斗向的排位赛）以打戏为主，码率本就很难控制，最终我们选择了后者。
基于上述情况，我们采取了比较激进的处理手段，首先是基于神经网络的自适应去色块，其次是较为强力的组合降噪算法，然后是常规去色带、抗锯齿、补偿性锐化。由于噪点质量太差，我们最后在体积允许的前提下重建了噪点层。
The quality of the source is indescribable. In theory, the sakuga and the encoding should have been quite good. The lines are thick but still sharp, with no ringing or noticeable aliasing, and the banding on flat areas is also unobtrusive.
Unfortunately, Toei's cost-cutting measures have severely compromised the production. Each BD25 contains 3-4 episodes, so the video track is only about 3-5G in size. Worse still, there's thick noise on the scenes. The heavy noise and lack of bitrate resulted in DCT noise and blocking apparently, but also caused texture to turn into grain blocking and lines to have a lacklustre quality. Although we had hoped that Crunchyroll's WEB source would be better, it still has the same problem and even worse texture.
It's easy to deal with the problems caused by lack of bitrate, but the texture and noise are hard to handle. Keeping or covering them would result in a severely high bitrate, while removing them would definitely make the texture blurry. Considering that this anime is mainly made up of fights (especially since S2 and S3 are rank battles) and the bitrate is hard to control, we chose the latter approach.
We adopted relatively aggressive strategies for the reasons mentioned above. First is NN-based adaptive de-blocking, then a combination of strong denoising algorithms, later followed by regular debanding, anti-aliasing and compensatory sharpening. We also reconstructed the noise layer as bitrate permits because of the poor quality of noise.
